Defense & Naval

Gicam’s technology can repair and manufacture critical defense and naval components using DED Laser technology: armored undercarriages, propeller shafts, marine propellers, and gas turbines. It enables rapid, localized repairs, which are crucial for industrial sovereignty and operational readiness for military and naval fleets.

Marine Propellers

A propeller weighing several metric tons with damage to its trailing edge: repairing it on-site rather than recasting the entire part drastically reduces the vessel's downtime.

Repair without remelting → Targeted repair of the trailing edge is possible without remelting the entire propeller.
Reduced downtime → A potential alternative to several months of foundry production.

FAQ

Is it possible to repair a marine propeller without recasting it?

The DED can locally rebuild areas eroded by cavitation (trailing edge, blade upper surface) without having to remelt the entire propeller.

What alloy can be used for this repair?
