SotiStation:
Safety at the Heart of Powder Handling

Although they are not as fine as those used in LPBF technology, certain metal powders used in DED additive manufacturing may pose a health risk to operators. Handling a powder hopper in the open air to fill or empty it is neither safe nor traceable. SotiStation addresses this challenge precisely: Gicam machines’ powder hoppers are filled in a sealed environment, with no operator exposure.
Beyond safety, SotiStation simplifies day-to-day operations. Each filled tank is automatically identified—material, batch, particle size—so it can be recognized directly by the Gicam machine upon installation, eliminating the need for manual re-entry and the risk of material errors. An integrated inventory management system keeps track of every batch used, a growing requirement for industrial traceability and quality.
Labeling combines QR codes or NFC for contactless handling in both production environments and cleanrooms.
It is this combination of security, traceability, and simplicity that makes SotiStation the natural complement to any Gicam production cell.
Sealed Handling
Filling and emptying powder tanks in a sealed chamber, without exposing the operator to particles—a critical safety consideration for reactive or toxic metal powders.
Identification & Traceability
Each filled tank is automatically identified (material, batch, particle size) and recognized directly by the Gicam upon installation (automatic loading of parameters). QR code and NFC labeling for contactless handling and integrated inventory management.
Powder Inventory Management
Real-time tracking of available quantities by material and by batch, with restocking alerts. Every powder movement—filling, emptying, or transferring—is automatically recorded, ensuring that inventory is always up to date without the need for manual data entry.
Weighing system
Weighing is integrated into every tank filling and emptying operation, enabling precise tracking of actual consumption by part or production batch. This is a key metric for calculating material costs and ensuring quality control, in addition to batch traceability.

SotiRecycle:
A Second Life for Your Metal Powders

In DED additive manufacturing, a portion of the sprayed powder does not melt and falls back around the molten pool—powder that is unused but not necessarily unusable. With an average deposition rate of 70% (depending on the material), well above what most conventional DED processes achieve, Sotimeco already minimizes this loss at the source. But even with this high yield, discarding the remaining unfused powder represents an avoidable material cost, particularly for expensive alloys (nickel-based superalloys, titanium). SotiRecycle addresses this challenge precisely: it recovers this powder and restores the properties necessary for its safe reuse.
The process combines two complementary steps. An automatic screening machine first filters out impurities and agglomerated or surface-oxidized particles, retaining only the usable particle size range. A conditioning oven then restores the powder’s properties before it is reintroduced into production—particularly its moisture content, a key factor in deposit quality.
It is this combination of screening and conditioning that makes SotiRecycle the natural complement to any Gicam production cell, reducing both material costs and waste generation.
Automatic Screening
Filtering out impurities and agglomerated or surface-oxidized particles to retain only the particle size range that is actually usable in manufacturing.
Oven-based sterilization
Heat treatment of the recovered powder to restore its properties, particularly its moisture content, before it is reintroduced into production.
Reduction in material costs
Less new powder purchased, less production waste—a direct cost savings on alloys that are often expensive.
Multi-Alloy Compatibility
Suitable for the metal powders used across the entire Gicam product line, allowing for a seamless return to production without any material restrictions.

SotiGate:
Monitor, understand, and utilize the DED process

Deployed as an industrial gateway that connects to the Gicam machine, SotiGate acquires, analyzes, and displays in real time information from the machine’s core and the manufacturing process. This data is centralized in a secure web interface, accessible without any special installation from a computer, tablet, or authorized mobile device.
Operators, process engineers, and production managers can thus monitor and analyze manufacturing in real time from any authorized workstation on the local network. Every manufacturing, repair, or reloading operation becomes a process that can be observed, measured, optimized, and traced—a digital monitoring station that is just as valuable in production as it is in prototyping or parameter tuning.
The intelligent melt analysis engine, based on AI models, continuously maps images of the process to extract key characteristics—valuable quantitative data for refining recipes and improving repeatability. Combined with multi-camera video monitoring (booth and process), this information constitutes a comprehensive digital manufacturing record for each operation: archived, searchable, and exportable.
Real-time monitoring
Overall machine status and process progress, setpoints and actual values (laser power, material flow rate, etc.), events and technical statuses, and maintenance information—all centralized in a single dashboard.
Intelligent Analysis of the Melt Bath
An AI engine that continuously analyzes process images to map the melt. Quantitative data that can be used to optimize recipes, compare production runs, and improve repeatability.
Multi-camera video & digital file
Real-time video feeds from the control room and production floor, supplemented with manufacturing parameters and AI analysis results. Synchronized and recorded data: a complete, historical, and exportable digital manufacturing record for each operation.
Security, Access, and Interconnection
Multi-user access with profile-based rights management, local operation with an encrypted remote access option, MES interconnection, and a compartmentalized architecture based on defense in depth.
